Over the past few days, the State of Israel has found itself under a murderous offensive of terrorist attacks. The fact that the concentration of the terrorists’ efforts has been focused on the period of US Special Envoy General Anthony Zinni’s mission, without any significant Palestinian efforts to foil the attacks, proves the Palestinian Authority, and its leader, lack the willingness to stop the campaign of violence and terror.
The escalation of terrorist activity in recent days is creating a new situation that is unacceptable to us, and requires renewed thought to be given to the manner in which terrorism, and the people responsible for it, are dealt with.
The security establishment will do its utmost to bring an end to the raging terrorism, using every method which it deems necessary, and it is currently in the midst of continuous reevaluation in response to the new situation that has been created. In this spirit, Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer has already directed the IDF to take a series of actions to prevent and foil the terrorist threat. This is the PA’s critical moment of trut
The PA is directly responsible for the situation that has been created, and we demand immediate, determined and continuous action to stop the campaign of terror, and to deal with the terrorist infrastructure.
Defense Minister Ben-Eliezer conveys his condolences to the bereaved families, and wishes the wounded a full recovery.
