Visit of Deputy FM of Kazakhstan to Israel

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Kairat Abuseitov, arrives in Israel for a working visit between May 13 and May 15.

On Monday May 14, the Deputy Foreign Minister will present an invitation to the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Shimon Peres, from the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, inviting him as a special guest of the International Conference on "The Twenty First Century: Towards a World Free of Nuclear Weapons". The Conference will convene in Kazakhstan during October 2001.

Mr. Abuseitov will meet with the political adviser of the Prime Minister, and will hold consultations with his counterparts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, prior to the convening of the CICA forum of Heads of State (the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia). The establishment of the Conference was initiated by the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, nine years ago. Israel attaches great importance to this organization, of which it has been a member since its establishment. In addition, the Deputy Foreign Minister will discuss the developing bilateral relations between Israel and Kazakhstan and the situation in our region.
