British Foreign Secretary Straw to visit Israel

The British Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, will arrive in Israel tomorrow (February 13), as part of a two-day tour of the region.

During the visit, the Foreign Secretary will meet with Prime Minister Sharon, Foreign Minister Peres, and Minister of Defense Ben-Eliezer. In addition, Mr. Straw will meet with families of the abduction victims, and he will visit the Magen David Adom center in Jerusalem.

The British Foreign Secretary will be visiting Israel, on behalf of the British Prime Minister, with the aim of reducing the level of violence in the conflict between the Palestinian Authority and Israel.

This is the second visit of Jack Straw since he assumed the position of Foreign Secretary seven months ago.
