Cabinet Communique

The Ministerial Committee on National Security (the Security Cabinet) convened last night (Wednesday), May 8, 2002, in the wake of the severe terrorist attack that took place on Tuesday night (May 7, 2002) in Rishon Letzion, and following a further series of attempted serious attacks which have been foiled by the security forces.

The security Cabinet authorized Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer to decide on actions against terrorist targets.
