FM Peres to Attend World Economic Forum in New York – Jan 31 – Feb 4, 2002

Foreign Minister Shimon Peres will depart tonight for the World Economic Forum. The Forum will take place in New York this year, as an act of solidarity with the City.

During the Forum, Minister Peres will participate in two panels: "From Conflict to Peace" and "The Paradigm for the Future Challenger". Peres will also meet with a number of leaders attending the Forum, including the UN Secretary General, the President of Peru, the President of Latvia, the Prime Minister of Canada, the German Chancellor, the Prime Minister of Australia, the Prime Minister of Romania, the US Secretary of State and other leaders.

In addition, Foreign Minister Peres will appear before the Economic Forum of Israeli Heads of Missions and Commercial Attaches in North America.
