IDF operations overnight (2-3 April) in Jenin and Salfit
(Communicated by the IDF Spokesman)

IDF reserves forces, in tandem with armored and engineering units, have been operating since last night (2 April) in the area of Jenin. During the course of these operations the forces have been taking up key positions in and around the city. After taking up these positions the IDF forces will start to search out and arrest terrorists, comb the areas and carry out searches for arms.

As part of the IDF’s battle against the terrorist infrastructure throughout the West Bank, last night IDF forces entered the town of Salfit, south of Ariel. During the operation gunfire was directed at the IDF forces, which returned fire in the direction of the source. No casualties were sustained.

In addition, two armed Palestinian terrorists were stopped in their car by an IDF force. At this time Salfit is under IDF control, and IDF forces are cordoning off and operating within the town.

IDF forces operated in the village of Idna, west of Hebron, and arrested a Palestinian suspected of carrying out terrorist activities.
