IDF operations overnight (4-5 April) in Judea and Samaria

IDF forces continued their operations overnight in the Palestinian towns of Jenin, Tulkarm, Kalkilya, Nablus, Ramallah, Bethlehem and in a number of villages.

An IDF soldier was seriously wounded after he was fired upon in the course of an IDF operation in the city of Nablus. The soldier was evacuated for medical treatment in hospital. In addition, terrorists detonated explosive devices against IDF forces. The terrorists detonating the devices were identified; IDF forces fired back at them, and the terrorists were killed. The IDF forces destroyed the area of the explosive devices in a controlled and precise manner.

Infantry forces arrested five terrorist suspects in the village of Nebi Elias, east of Kalkilya.

An IDF soldier was lightly wounded in the course of an operation in Bethlehem, after he was fired upon. He was evacuated for medical treatment in hospital.

Up until now, the IDF have arrested 900 Palestinians, among them hundreds of wanted terrorists. 50 RPG bombs were found, along with two rocket launchers, 26 machine guns, 9 explosive devices, 4 explosive belts, dozens of ammunition crates, dozens of kilograms of explosives, over 1300 guns of various kinds and 670 pistols.

Arms Captured in Nablus in the Course of Operation "Defensive Shield"

IDF troops have been deployed in area of Nablus in order to eradicate and thwart terror activity.

The following was captured in two sites in the city of Nablus:

9 armed wanted terrorists were discovered in the Governor’s Residence and 3 Kalashnikov assault rifles, 6 pistols, 1 shotgun, 1 telescopic rifle and large amounts of ammunition were uncovered. Those detained were turned over to security forces for questioning.

In another building, in the apartment adjacent to that belonging to Faris Al-Amani, Commander of the Palestinian "blue" (civilian) police, a large explosives lab, 10 kg. of explosives, detonators for bombs, vests fitted with explosives, paraphernalia for the preparation of explosive charges, costume wigs, and gas masks were found.

The apartment in question was summarily demolished that evening by IDF troops.

Discovery of Explosives Laboratory and Arrests of Wanted Terrorists in Tulkarm

In the course of an IDF reserve forces operation to destroy the Palestinian terrorist infrastructure in the city of Tulkarm, the forces discovered an explosives laboratory that contained several explosive charges and 4 explosive belts for suicide bombers.

During the operation, the reserve forces have arrested, up until now, over 15 wanted terrorists in Tulkarm and the surrounding area.
