Passenger traffic resumes through Rafiah and Allenby terminals; Erez industrial zone returns to full activity; commercial traffic through Karni crossing continuing

Passenger traffic through the Rafiah and Allenby terminals was resumed on Sunday, March 17, 2002; the terminals had been closed to passenger traffic in recent days due the security situation.
Similarly, the Erez Industrial Zone has returned to full activity; in this context, 3,000 Palestinian workers went to work in the industrial zone today. The movement of goods and produce to and from the Gaza Strip via the Karni crossing is continuing, including the export of260,000 flowers.
Israel has undertaken the aforementioned steps due to its recognition of their importance to normal daily life, ongoing economic activity and the general welfare of the population not involved in Palestinian terrorism.
