PM Sharon: Seven days of complete quiet necessary before Tenet Plan can be implemented; restrictions on Palestinian civilian population eased

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon last night (Tuesday), January 1, 2002, held a discussion with Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Shaul Mofaz and senior security establishment officials. The Prime Minister re-emphasized the need for seven days of complete quiet before implementation of the Tenet plan can begin. The Prime Minister also ordered the security establishment to immediately implement a series of measures – including the removal of roadblocks – designed to ease restrictions on the civilian population.
