Restoration of Electricity and Water in Ramallah
(Communicated by the IDF Spokesman)

Water and electricity supplies in Ramallah and in the IDF camps in the vicinity have been disrupted as a result of the fighting that has taken place in the area over the past few days.

Teams from the Palestinian electricity and water companies, in coordination with the IDF, have been allowed to move around the city for the purpose of repairing the damage to the water mains and electrical lines and to restore water and electricity to the area. In addition, the army has allowed food and medicines to be delivered to the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority. The deliveries have included pitas, bottled water, cheeses, eggs, flashlights, candles, and tinned meats.

Regarding movement around the area, the IDF spokesman reiterates that the IDF’s policy is to allow free passage in cases of humanitarian need and has no intention of harming innocent people.
