|Visit of Foreign Minister Peres to China

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres will depart on Saturday night (March 23) for an official three-day visit to China. Mr. Peres will be the guest of Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan.
The purpose of the visit is to advance the relations between China and Israel in the various spheres. During the visit, Foreign Minister Peres will meet with various government officials, and will discuss the situation in the Middle East and bilateral matters.
This will be the first visit of a high-level Israeli official to China since the resolution of the Phalcon issue.
