Chinese special envoy to the Middle East arrives in Israel

FM Silvan Shalom meets with
The Chinese special envoy to the Middle East Ambassador Wang Shijie arrived in Israel on May 18, 2003 to assess the situation following the war in Iraq and to discuss the peace process. This is his second visit to Israel since he took up his post at the end of last year.
During his visit, he is slated to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom, members of the Security and Defense Committee and families of soldiers missing in action. Ambassador Wang will be departing on May 22.
