FM Shalom meets with Moroccan FM Mohamed Benaissa

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom met today with his colleague the Foreign Minister of Morocco Mohamed Benaissa, marking the first meeting between the foreign ministers of both countries since October 2000.
Foreign Minister Shalom landed in London for the meeting on his way back from the United States. The two ministers met at the residence of the Moroccan Ambassador to Great Britain. The meeting, which lasted for more than one and a half hours, addressed the peace process and the strengthening of relations between Israel and Morocco. The two ministers decided to meet again in the near future.
Foreign Minister Shalom met with the Qatari foreign minister in May 2003 and the Crown Prince of Bahrain in June 2003.
