FM Silvan Shalom meets with UEFA officials in Switzerland

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom met yesterday (July 14) in Switzerland with Secretary General of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Gerhard Aigner, along with Israel Football Association Chair Gavri Levi. They held a warm and friendly meeting in which they focused on enabling Israeli football teams to once again host games in Israel.
Minister Shalom brought with him letters of support from numerous European foreign ministers, including from Germany, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Austria.
UEFA’s Emergency Committee will meet at the end of the month to consider whether to lift the ban.
