 Foreign Minister of New Zealand Visits Israel-May 26- 2003

FM Silvan Shalom meets with
FM of New Zealand Phil Goff in
Tel Aviv (May 27)

The Foreign Minister of New Zealand, Phil Goff, will arrive this afternoon (May 26) for an official four-day visit to Israel. Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom will hold a working meeting with Foreign Minister Goff, and will host him for lunch.

During the visit, Mr. Goff will meet with the President of Israel, Moshe Katsav, with the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ehud Olmert, with the Finance Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, and Minister of Justice, Yosef Lapid. In addition, he will visit the Knesset and meet with Members of Knesset from the various parties.

The visit will focus on ways to enhance bilateral ties in the realm of economy and trade.

This is Mr. Goff’s first visit to Israel as Foreign Minister, although Mr. Goff visited Israel in his youth as a volunteer on Kibbutz Rosh Hanikra.
