PM Sharon speaks with Turkish PM Erdogan

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon today (Saturday), November 22, 2003, spoke with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and expressed his and the Israeli people’s condolences for the disasters which have befallen Turkey in the past week. The Prime Minister pointed out that Israel, which has been dealing with Palestinian terrorism for years and has suffered many victims, well understands the Turkish people’s pain.

The Prime Minister said that international terrorism is the main danger, and the most tangible threat, to the peace and stability of the free world, and added that it must be fought without compromise. The Prime Minister stressed that this is not a war against Islam but against terrorist elements being led by Islamic extremist elements.

Prime Minister Sharon and Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan agreed to step up bilateral cooperation in the war against terror and to close ranks in order to defeat it.
