Restrictions Lifted on the Palestinian Population in Jericho
(Communicated by the IDF Spokesman)

Today (January 30), the IDF Central Command and the Civil Administration decided to ease restrictions on the Palestinian population of Jericho. The decision was reached on the basis of current security assessments.

Among the restrictions lifted: IDF forces have re-deployed on the outskirts of the city, and Palestinian taxis and public transportation resumed operation, allowing residents of the city to reach other destinations within the West Bank and residents of other cities to enter Jericho. In addition, the passage of trucks carrying merchandise from East Jerusalem into Jericho was allowed.

This decision was reached in order to permit the Palestinian population in Jericho not involved in terrorism to resume their daily routine.
