Visit of Deputy Prime Minister of Italy to Israel

Deputy Prime Minister of Italy Gianfranco Fini lays wreath at Yad Vashem (Nov 24, 2003)
The Deputy Prime Minister of Italy, HE Gianfranco Fini, will arrive this evening for an official three-day visit to Israel.
During his visit, Mr. Fini will meet with the Israeli President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and other senior officials. He will also visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority.
The topics to be discussed during the Deputy Prime Minister’s visit will include bilateral issues, the political process in the region, Israel’s relations with the EU and ways to fight against the scourge of antisemitism. Italy has held the rotating Presidency of the EU since July 2003. In 2004, Italy will be at the head of an international task force for the perpetuation of the memory of the Holocaust.
