Director General of Foreign Ministry to Visit Belgium

Yoav Biran, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will arrive today in Belgium for a two-day visit to the headquarters of the European Union in Brussels. The visit is part of the ongoing political dialogue between Israel and the EU. The Director General will participate in discussions on the political process, the anti-terrorist fence and international initiatives that concern our region, such as "The Greater Middle East."

During his visit, Mr. Biran will meet with Javier Solana, the EU’s foreign policy coordinator, the representative in charge of matters relating to the expansion, the President of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, the Deputy Secretary General of NATO, and the ME Director General of the Commission for Foreign Affairs. In addition, Mr. Biran will brief the ambassadors of the Political Security Committee, who represent the 25 current and pending member states of the EU.
