Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom, who is currently attending the annual conference of the Davos World Economic Forum in Jordan, met on Monday (17 May) with King Abdullah, Jordanian Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher, and Bassam a-Wadallah, Jordanian Minister of Planning. At the meetings, bilateral relations were discussed, as well as the peace process, the disengagement plan, and other general topics.
Minister Shalom expressed satisfaction with the talks and mentioned the extensive cooperation existing between Israel and Jordan. He stated that Israel and the Jordanian government have been coordinating their efforts to promote the peace process, stressing the importance of Jordan’s involvement and its role as a stabilizing factor in the region. Minister Shalom also conveyed a message to the King from Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
