FM Shalom will meet with National Security Advisor Rice and Secretary of State Powell.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom is scheduled to depart tonight (1 July, 2004) for the United States where he will hold a series of meetings in Washington, DC and in New York.
FM Shalom will meet with National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of State Colin Powell. He will also meet with congressional leaders. In New York, FM Shalom will meet with senior UN officials and Jewish leaders.
During his meetings, FM Shalom will provide updates regarding Israel’s disengagement plan, coordination with Egypt, the upcoming decision of ICJ in the Hague regarding Israel’s security fence and other strategic issues affecting the region.
