Chinese FM Li Zhaoxing has invited FM Silvan Shalom to pay an official visit to China from November 5 to 9, 2004.

At the invitation of Mr. Li Zhaoxing, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Silvan Shalom, Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs will pay an official visit to China from November 5 to 9, 2004.

Mr. Ron Prosor, Director General of Israel’s Foreign Ministry and Mr. Itzhak Cohen, Member of the Knesset will be in Mr. Silvan Shalom’s entourage.     

During the visit, Mr. Silvan Shalom will meet Premier Wen Jiabao, and have talks with his Chinese counterpart Mr. Li Zhaoxing. He will also meet Mr. Liu Jingmin, Beijing’s Vice Mayor and Executive Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee for 2008 Olympic Games for further promoting Israel-China cooperation in the forthcoming event.

He will attend a signing ceremony of an agreement concerning Israel-China agricultural training cooperation and present a donation of satellite communication system for China’s rural education. He will also give a press conference in Beijing. (invitation will be issued separately)

Apart from Beijing, Mr. Silvan Shalom will also pay a one-day visit to Hong Kong on November 9.
