NSC Chmn. Giora Eiland convenes disengagement plan steering committee

National Security Council Chairman Giora Eiland, this evening (Monday), January 26, 2004, for the first time, convened the Disengagement Plan Steering Committee for a joint discussion on organizational preparations and the main issues that the disengagement plan is due to address.
The committee is composed of Justice Ministry Director-General Aharon Abramovitz, Finance Ministry Director-General Ohad Marani, Foreign Ministry Director-General Yoav Biran and senior Foreign Ministry, Defense Ministry, IDF, ISA and Mossad officials.
It was decided – inter alia – to establish several sub-committees that will consider the following issues in detail: security, legal, economic and humanitarian.
The steering committee will reconvene in the near future.
