The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, will arrive for a visit to Israel, immediately following the Sharm el-Sheikh Conference.

The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, will arrive tomorrow (23 November) for a visit to Israel, immediately following the Sharm el-Sheikh Conference. He will be the guest of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom and will be accompanied by the Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of Middle East and African affairs, Mr. Alexander Saltanov, and others.

During the visit, the Russian foreign minister will meet with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and with Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom.

This visit is a very important link in the chain of contacts on all levels between Israel and Russia, with the aim of promoting bilateral relations and coordinating positions vis-a-vis regional developments.
