Bernard Bot, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, will arrive in Israel tomorrow, 30 March, for a one-day working visit. This is Bot’s first visit in Israel as Foreign Minister, a role he has filled since the beginning of the year.

During his visit, the Dutch Foreign Minister will meet with the Israeli President, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and with the Head of the Opposition. He will also visit Yad Vashem The Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority.

Among the subjects that will be discussed at the meetings are the peace process, regional issues and bilateral relations between Israel and Holland. The Netherlands will serve as the rotating President of the EU as of 1 July 2004.

In 2003, Holland was the leading importer of Israeli goods in Europe. Israeli exports to Holland totaled $1.082 million that year. Israeli imports from Holland stood at $1.196 million.
