The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister of State for the Middle East, Baroness Elizabeth Symons, will arrive in Israel this evening for a short visit (March 2), as a guest of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom.

During the visit, Baroness Symons will meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, and will provide him with an update on the London Meeting, as well as her impressions from her recent visit to Beirut. In addition, the British Minister of State for the Middle East will meet with Vice Premier Shimon Peres and Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Ehud Olmert.

Baroness Symons is a frequent visitor to the region, and works in coordination with British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw on issues related to the Middle East and the peace process.
