The National Security Council Counter-Terrorism HQ has today (Tuesday), 30 August 2005, issued the following statement:

“In light of the lifting of the concrete terrorism threats on the Turkish southern coast between Alanya and Kemer, the Counter-Terrorism HQ is canceling its recommendation to avoid visiting or being present in the area. The recommendation to avoid being present near Turkey’s borders with Iran and Iraq is still in force, as is the advisory to be alert and maintain the recommended rules of behavior throughout Turkey.”
