FM Gheit will hold discussions concerning the promotion of the peace process and ways of enhancing the two countries’ bilateral relations.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, will arrive in Israel on Sunday, 19 June, for a working visit, as the guest of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom.
The visiting minister will meet with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom for discussions concerning the promotion of the peace process and ways of enhancing the two countries’ bilateral relations. The ministers will also discuss preparations for the implementation of the Disengagement Plan and Egypt’s part in them.
Foreign Minister Shalom assigns great importance to this visit, in consideration of Egypt’s central role in the region, the timing of the visit, and the significance of the two countries’ relations.
