Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom laid a wreath yesterday (Tuesday, 26 July) in London at the site of the terrorist bus bombing on July 7 where Israeli Anat Rosenberg was among those killed.

After conveying condolences on behalf of the government and people of Israel, Minister Shalom met with Foreign Secretary Jack Straw. At a press conference following their meeting, Secretary Straw rejected recent comments by London Mayor Ken Livingstone comparing the Likud Party to Hamas and made it clear that the comparison has no basis, as Hamas is a terrorist organization.

Straw added that terrorism cannot be justified anywhere — not in London, Sharm e-Sheikh, or Netanya.
