British Prime Minister Tony Blair will meet with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon next month in New York at the United Nations General Assembly, he agreed in a meeting yesterday (Monday, 25 July) with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom in London.

Minister Shalom asked Blair for Britain to use its influence to get Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to fulfill his commitment to disband the terrorist infrastructures.

Prime Minister Blair described Israel’s Disengagement Plan as a courageous step and Minister Shalom updated him on preparations for carrying out the disengagement as scheduled.

Minister Shalom also expressed condolences to Blair on the recent terrorist attacks in London.
