(Communicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman)
The Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ron Prosor, has embarked on a working visit to China. During the visit, he will meet with Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Dai Bing Guo. They will discuss bilateral issues and the situation in the Middle East.
During the visit, a strategic dialogue will also be held. The dialogue will be held under the auspices of the Chinese and Israeli foreign ministries, and constitutes a forum for the coordination of positions between the two countries. Among the issues to be discussed will be international terrorism and the efforts to stem proliferation.
The visit of the director-general and the convening of the strategic dialogue at the present time constitute a further enhancement of relations between the two countries in all spheres. These relations gained momentum following the visit of Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom to China in November 2004.
