The annual political dialogue between Israel and Canada will take place today (January 18) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Jerusalem. The Deputy Director General of the North America Division in the Foreign Ministry, Mr. Yoram Ben-Zeev, and the Director General of the Middle East and Africa Division in the Canadian Foreign Ministry, Mr. David Malone, will be heading the dialogue. Participants in the forum will include Foreign Ministry Director General, Ron Prosor, the Political Adviser to the Prime Minister, Shalom Tourgeman, and the Head of the Political-Security Department in the Ministry of Defense, Maj Gen Amos Gilad.
The dialogue will focus on the relations between Israel and Canada, regional matters and global issues, including the war against terrorism and strategic threats.
The bilateral relations between the countries and the dialogue are characterized by warmth and friendship, at every level. The Foreign Minister of Canada, Pierre Pettigrew, is expected to visit Israel in the coming month.
