Argentinean FM Rafael Bielsa, will visit Israel and the Palestinian Authority on January 9-100, on the occasion of the elections in the Palestinian Authority.

The Argentinian Foreign Minister, Rafael Bielsa, will visit Israel and the Palestinian Authority between January 9 and 10, on the occasion of the elections in the Palestinian Authority. During his stay in Israel, he will meet with the President of the State of Israel, Moshe Katzav and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom.
During their discussions, Foreign Minister Bielsa and his interlocutors will work to promote the good bilateral relations and friendship between the two countries. They will also discuss the peace process in the Middle East and the investigation of the bombings ofthe Israeli Embassy in 1992 and the AMIA Jewish community center in 1994, in Buenos Aires.
Argentina took up its position as a (non-permanent) member of the UN Security Council in January 2005, and will serve as a member for two years. Argentina has assumed the Presidency of the Security Council for the month of January.
