FM Jean Asselborn of Luxembourg will visit Israel. Luxembourg holds the presidency of the EU during the first half of 2005.

The foreign minister of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, will arrive on Wednesday (January 19) for a visit to Israel, as the guest of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom.
Luxembourg holds the presidency of the European Union during the first half of 2005. During the visit, the foreign ministers will discuss the peace process, the struggle against terrorism, regional issues, relations between Israel and Europe, and bilateral ties.
Aside from his meeting with Foreign Minister Shalom, Asselborn will also meet with President Moshe Katsav, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, and Vice Premier Shimon Peres. He will also visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority.
