Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni spoke this evening (11 February) by phone with her French colleague, Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy.

The French Foreign Minister conveyed a clear message that France would uphold the three pre-conditions set by the international community for any future Palestinian government: recognition of Israel, renunciation of violence and recognition of previous agreements.

Foreign Minister Douste-Blazy noted that this has been the position held by France in the past, and that France will continue to maintain a clear, unified and unwavering position on this issue.
