The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Jonas Gahr Store, arrived in Israel Monday night, 8 May, for a three-day visit. The visiting minister will be meeting with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Defense Minister Amir Peretz, Public Security Minister Abraham Dicter, Justice Minister Haim Ramon, and other Israeli officials. He will also visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority.

Norway, currently serving as Chairman of the Ad-hoc Liaison Committee, is very interested in Middle East events and tries to maintain contact with the various parties.

The meetings will continue Israel’s ongoing dialogue with the Norwegians on the political process and bilateral issues. Israel and Norway have a long tradition of friendship and cooperation, and the current visit will contribute to revitalizing their relations.
