Transfer of food and fuel into the Gaza Strip

Despite ongoing terror attacks from Gaza aimed at the civilian population in Israel, and as part of the IDF’s commitment to minimize the damage to the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip, the following supplies were transferred on Friday, July 14, through the Karni and Nahal Oz crossings:

Over 15 containers and 40 trucks containing:
– 520 tons of various grains
– 280 tons of milk and meat products
– 360 tons of fruit
– 400,000 liters of diesel
– 100,000 liters of gasoline
– 125,000 tons of cooking gas

It is important to note that the water and electricity supply from Israel to the Gaza Strip remains uninterrupted.

Summary of IDF attacks in Gaza

Early this morning, July 15, 2006, the IDF carried out an aerial attack against the offices of the Palestinian Ministry of Finance, on behalf of the Hamas terror organization, in the northern Gaza Strip.

The IDF also carried out an aerial attack on a bridge in the central Gaza Strip, in order to inhibit the ability to transfer Cpl. Gilad Shalit and impair the movement of terrorists and Qassam launchers. .

Hamas is a terror organization which regularly plans and carries out attacks against Israel, including attacks carried out in recent weeks. The IDF holds the Palestinian Authority and the Hamas government responsible for these attacks and the fate of the abducted soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit.

The security forces will act against the terror organizations and their members regardless of rank or seniority.

Earlier today, July 15, 2006, the IDF carried out an aerial attack on a facility in Gaza city used by the Hamas terror organization to produce and store weapons. Several Hamas members were in the facility at the time of the attack operating in order to upgrade the organization’s rockets.
