For the past 24 hours, IDF ground forces have been operating on the outskirts of the city of Rafah, as part of the operation to stop the launching of rockets at Israel and to destroy terror infrastructure in the area.

As part of the operation, the IDF targeted 25 armed gunmen who were identified carrying anti tank missiles and fire arms and placing explosive devices in the area in which the force were operating in. The forces also uncovered an explosive device in the area of the Sufa crossing which was detonated in a controlled manner.

Palestinians launched an anti-tank missile at the forces, no injuries or damage were reported.

In spite of the continuing terror attacks against Israeli civilians emanating from the Gaza Strip, supplies continued to pass through the Karni goods crossing today. In coordination with the Gaza liason administration, approximately 160 truckloads of food and medical supplies were transferred into the Gaza Strip today. In Nahal Oz fuel terminal, 700,000 liters of diesel fuel, 100,000 liters of gasoline and 125 tons of natural gas passed into the Gaza Strip.

Summary of IDF activity overnight in the Gaza Strip

The IDF carried out two aerial attacks in the central Gaza Strip targeting facilities that are used by terror organizations to store weaponry. One facility, in the Shaty refugee camp, was used by the Islamic Jihad terror organization. The other, in Gaza city, was used by the Hamas terror organization.

Early this morning IDF forces carried out an aerial attack against two armed gunmen identified in the area of the Dahaniya airport, where forces are currently operating.

In addition, the IDF carried out artillery fire towards areas in northern Gaza from which Qassam rockets were fired towards Israel.
