This year, Israel and Spain mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Spanish Foreign Minister, Miguel Angel Moratinos, will arrive in Israel for a visit on Sunday April 23. As well as his meeting with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, he will meet with Interim Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and other officials.
Spain and Israel enjoy good friendly relations. This year, the two countries are marking the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. This milestone will be celebrated throughout 2006, with events and activities in the political, cultural, economic and scientific realms, among others. The official opening ceremony marking the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Spain was held at the President’s Residence in January 2006.
