Dep FM Whbee will attend the US Middle East and North Africa Trade and Investment Conference

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Majalli Whbee, is leaving today for a one-day visit to Jordan. He will attend the US Middle East and North Africa Trade and Investment Conference, which is being convened jointly by the American and Jordanian governments on the eastern shore of the Dead Sea. Deputy Minister Whbee will also meet with senior Jordanian officials to discuss bilateral projects and to brief them on the latest developments concerning the Palestinians.
The conference will be convened under the auspices of US Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez. [Until the second intifada, meetings of this type were held in the framework of MENA – the Middle East and North Africa – economic conferences.] Ministers from Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, the Palestinian Authority, Qatar, the United Emirates and Yemen are expected to attend.
