Ayalon will meet with State Department officials, congressional and Jewish leaders
Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon will leave tonight for a visit to the United States to lay the groundwork for a strategic dialogue to take place between FM Avigdor Liberman and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The deputy foreign minister will also continue the public diplomacy campaign begun by FM Liberman.
In Washington, Dep. FM Ayalon will meet with presidential special advisor, Mr. Dennis Ross, Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg, and Undersecretary of State William Burns. He will also meet with leading members of Congress.
Mr. Ayalon will meet with leaders of the Jewish community and with AIPAC and AJC officials. He will also give interviews and briefings to the media.
The deputy foreign minster will return to Israel on Friday, 18 September 2009.
