The delegations discussed issues of mutual interest and ways to deepen the ties between the two states

The annual dialogue between Israel and Greece took place on 15 March in Jerusalem. The Israeli delegation was led by the director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Yossi Gal, and the Greek delegation was led by the Secretary General of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Yannis Alexis Zepos.
The delegations discussed ways to deepen the good ties existing between the two states. They stressed the need to promote the diplomatic process in the region by means of proximity talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The delegations also discussed the Iranian threat and the steps the international community should take to counter it.
The Greek Secretary General briefed his Israeli counterpart on Greek internal affairs as a result of the economic crisis in Greece and expressed his confidence that his country will emerge from the crisis.
