Deputy FM Ayalon met today (Wednesday, 18 August 2010) in Jerusalem with Michael Williams, UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon.

During the meeting, which dealt predominantly with the recent border incident that resulted in the death of Lt. Col. Dov Harari, DFM Ayalon emphasized the importance of maintaining the blue line and Israel’s right to operate to the south of it.

In addition, in light of reports of a possible new flotilla set to embark from Lebanon, DFM Ayalon requested that the United Nations and the international community make every effort to prevent future unnecessary, provocative and hostile flotillas.
