(Communicated by the Prime Minister’s Media Adviser)
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this afternoon (Tuesday, May 3, 2011) in Jerusalem, met with Quartet envoy Tony Blair and told him that: "I call on Abu Mazen to annul the agreement with Hamas immediately and choose the path of peace with Israel."
Regarding the signing of the agreement between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, the Prime Minister added, "The agreement between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas is a hard blow to the peace process. How is it possible to achieve peace with a government, half of which calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and even praises the arch-murderer Osama Bin Laden?" The Prime Minister will make similar remarks during his meetings in London and Paris with British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Prime Minister Netanyahu and envoy Blair also discussed various diplomatic issues on the agenda such as the elimination of Osama Bin Laden.
