4,147 truckloads of goods were imported into the Gaza Strip last month, including 1,358 truckloads of construction materials

A total of 4,147 trucks carrying 124,940 tons of goods entered the Gaza Strip from Israel through the Kerem Shalom land crossing in March. The imported goods included 1,358 truckloads of construction materials.
Also last month, 74 truckloads of goods were exported from the Gaza Strip for sale in foreign markets. The goods – including fresh produce, furniture, flowers and spices – were first transferred to Israel via the Kerem Shalom crossing and then shipped abroad.
Throughout March, 4,395 Palestinians entered Israel through the Erez Terminal – Pedestrian Crossing. In one incident, a Gazan infant born with a congenital heart defect was brought into Israel for emergency treatment at the Sheba Medical Center.
Since 2010 COGAT has approved 235 internationally sponsored projects for the benefit of Gaza’s civilian population, of which 90 have already been completed and 81 are currently underway.
