During the last month, 4,945 trucks carrying 136,785 tons of goods entered the Gaza Strip from Israel through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

Of the trucks, 1,728 were carrying food, 54 were carrying clothes, 66 were carrying electrical equipment, and 22 were carrying sports equipment, vehicles, washing machines and refrigerators. Transportation of cooking gas into the Gaza Strip continued with 2,575 tons.

The transfer of goods to Gaza is coordinated by the Israeli government and IDF (Zahal) as well as Palestinian and international organizations.

163 building projects run by the international community are currently underway in the Gaza Strip. 35 projects have been completed this month and 57 additional projects are in progress.

During the month, 3,045 Palestinians entered Israel from the Gaza Strip via the Erez Crossing with the help of COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories). 1,522 Palestinians entered to receive medical care at Israeli hospitals.

During September 1,455 Palestinian businessmen left the Gaza Strip and an additional 57 international organization staff members were allowed to enter Gaza.

COGAT makes such efforts on a daily basis, assisting in matters of health, education, agriculture and infrastructure.

COGAT is a unit within the IDF (Zahal) responsible for transport of aid into the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. It works with the Coordination and Liaison Administration (CLA) of the Gaza Strip and West Bank’s Civil Administration to facilitate entrance of supplies such as gas, building materials, electrical appliances, ceramic parts, wheat and other foods, hygienic products and more.
