A total of 4,991 trucks carrying 143,277 tons of imports entered the Gaza Strip from Israel through the Kerem Shalom land crossing in January. The imported goods included 1,844 truckloads of construction materials.

Also last month, 138 truckloads of goods were exported from the Gaza Strip for sale in foreign markets. The goods – including fresh produce, flowers and over 100 truckloads of plane-trees – were first transferred to Israel via the Kerem Shalom crossing and then shipped abroad.

During the same period, 5,219 Palestinians entered Israel via the Erez Terminal.

Also in January, the Grizim power line, which provides electricity to the northern Gaza Strip, was refurbished and upgraded. This process, which involved cooperation from the IDF (Zahal) and the Israeli Electric Corporation, significantly increased the power line’s capacity, providing a more stable source of electricity to over 70,000 residents of northern Gaza.
