The West Bank:
An Israeli youth was lightly injured today, from a stone thrown at his vehicle near the Jewish settlement of Kadim. He was treated at the settlement’s infirmary. Stones were also thrown at an Israeli vehicle near Al-Hader.
An IDF officer was lightly wounded from a stone thrown at him, in the course of disturbances near the Jewish settlement of Tekoa. He was treated on site.
Shots were fired at the Offer IDF base, near Ramallah, IDF forces did not return fire since the source of the shooting was not identified.
Shots were also fired at the IDF base in Mount Eibal, at an IDF force in Tel Ares, and at IDF soldiers at the “Pharmacy” junction in Hebron, from the direction of Abu-Snina.
There were no casualties in any of these incidents.
Petrol bombs were thrown at the following sites:
At a military vehicle on the Jericho bypass road; at an IDF patrol near the Jewish settlement of Vered Yericho; toward IDF forces at Ayosh junction; the Shallala street in Hebron; Rachael’s Tomb; the Berech bend (near western Tekoa); Beit Anun junction; Mevtarey Otzrin in Samaria. In all of these incidents, IDF forces responded with measures for dispersing demonstrations.
The Gaza Strip:
As of the morning hours, Palestinians rioters gathered to throw stones and firebombs in the area of the Erez cross-point. In one incident, Palestinians even tried to set flame to the IDF position at the site, using burning car tires. IDF soldiers responded with measures for dispersing demonstrations.
Dozens of the Palestinians arrived in the late morning at the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel, in the area of the Bsor river, and attempted to infiltrate into Israeli territory. An IDF force fired a single shot at the legs of one of the Palestinians and thwarted the infiltration attempt.
During the afternoon, shots were fired and rocks were thrown at a military convoy, makings its way along the Israeli-Egyptian border near Rafah. Also, shots were fired at an IDF patrol south of the Kisufim cross-point. In both these incidents there were no casualties.
Rocks were thrown at an IDF patrol near Kfar Darom and toward a civilian vehicle. The vehicle was heavily damaged.
Palestinian rioters threw stones in the area of the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel in the area of the Bsor river.
Throughout the day, Palestinians threw petrol bombs and stones at IDF forces and Israeli convoys making their way on the road between the Karni cross-point and Netzarim. IDF soldiers responded with measures for dispersing demonstrations.
In the last hour, Palestinian rioters threw stones at IDF forces at the Erez cross-point. IDF soldiers responded with measures for dispersing demonstrations. There were no casualties.
The IDF is adhering strictly to its obligations of the Peres-Arafat agreement. However, so far there has been no considerable decline in the level of violence from the Palestinian side.
