An IDF soldier suspected of stealing a grenade from a base in Northern Israel was arrested a few days ago. Following the report on the theft of a grenade, the Military Police opened an investigation that led to the arrest of the soldier. In a search of the suspect’s home the stolen grenade was discovered in addition to two smoke grenades, a gas grenade, two practice grenades, 40 mm bullets, and suspicious material suspected to be a “marijuana” type drug. The soldier admitted during the investigation that he stole the grenade and was arrested until the conclusion of the investigation. The soldier will be incarcerated for the next few days.

This operation is part of the wide reaching operations carried out by the Military Police in order to stem the theft of weapons from the IDF and their transfer to hostile or criminal forces, and is defined as one of the central goals of the Military Police.
