IDF (Zahal) forces remain on high alert after preventing a breach of Israel’s border on Sunday

Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz visited the Majdal Shams region of the Golan Heights on Monday (June 6) and met with the commander of the sector as well as GOC Northern Command Maj. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot.
Maj. Gen. Eisenkot briefed Lt. Gen. Gantz on what is going on along the border as well as the IDF (Zahal)’s preparations. Lt. Gen. Gantz observed the border and saw that IDF (Zahal) troops continue to be on high alert in order to protect Israel’s sovereignty in the region.
On Sunday, IDF (Zahal) soldiers were able to prevent illegal infiltrators from breaching the border.
Early on Monday morning, IDF (Zahal) engineering forces were able to enter the area where demonstrators had approached the border the day before and repaired some of the security obstacles.
The military closure of the northern Golan Heights that was put in place over the weekend remained in effect on Monday.
